Lessons from Geese--

--Author Unknown

As each bird flaps its wings, it creates an "uplift" for the bird following. By flying in a V formation, the whole flock adds 71% to the flying range than if each bird flew alone.

LESSON: People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going more quickly and more easily because they are traveling with the combined thrust of one another.

Whenever a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to fly alone, and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the "lifting power" of the bird immediately in front.

LESSON: If we have as much sense as the goose, we will stay in formation with those who are headed where we want to go.
When the lead goose gets tired, it rotates back into formation and another goose flies at the point position.

LESSON: It pays to take turns doing the hard task, and sharing leadership -- with people as with geese -- independent with each other.

The geese in formation honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed.

LESSON: We need to make sure our honking from behind is encouraging -- not something less helpful.

When a goose gets sick or wounded, two geese drop out of formation and follow it down to help and protect it. They stay with it until it is either able to fly again or dies. Then, they launch out on their own to join another formation or rejoin their flock.

LESSON: If we have as much sense as the geese, we'll stand by each other like that.

Twenty Fallen Angels Unite the World

Dear True Believer that we can make the World a better place!

Since I've been writing from about the age of eight or nine, very few things have caused me to go silent.  Words, have always seem to flow from me.  But, not this time.  THAT, I am a humanitarian, mother and grandmother, it makes  little sense to me that someone would actually plan the taking of a life.  And most certainly, not the lives of helpless children going about their 'everyday-schoolday' business of reading, writing, and arithmetic.

How does someone do that...  the taking of a life?
'He' woke up this past Friday morning and likely ate a bowl of cereal, drank a glass of juice, perhaps ate a piece of fruit-- all the while dressed in full gear camouflage.  Casually drove to 'his' parent's home-- and killed 'his' mother with a high powered assault weapon.  But 'his' rampage didn't stop there.  'He' drove to the school where 'his' mother worked as a teacher and unleashed an unimaginable hellfire of bullets, killing twenty innocent children who were-- going about their 'everyday-schoolday' business of reading, writing and a little bit of arithmetic!!!

Teachers and school administrators did not escape 'his' horrific carnage.  Nor did 'he', as the last life 'he' took was his own.  This boggles my mind.  How does someone do this?

We may find a few answers  in the work of Systemic Solutions Relationship Management expert Martyn CarruthersIn his "Human Systems" business model, Carruthers speaks to the generational predictability of chaos in family systems, as follows:
"...Each family has predictable patterns of interactions (family traditions) that are passed and replicated across generations.  Family interactions can modify but not end these cross-generational entanglements.  External observation and assistance is needed.  Each family member affects all other members of a family.  Parental moods and actions affect children and other relatives.  Family members respond to each other's issues in predictable ways.  Many solutions create new problems - and often a solution is worse than the problem."
We've come full circle again kindreds.  Sandy Hook didn't have to happen.  I really do believe that collectively we can make our World a better place.  And while I wish I had all the answers, Life doesn't come with an instruction manual.  Mental health professionals, doctors and probably even lawyers will  probably debate 'Sandy Hook' for years to come, in an attempt to try and figure out, "What happened?"  ...to this young man and his family.    We'll need to "make some logical sense" of this incident so that we don't go crazy ourselves!

Politicians-- we'll need you to revisit our gun legislation statuts this upcoming session.  Gun shoppe owners-- we'll need your help in keeping a more watchful eye on  characters who come into your establishments!   Guns don't kill people.  People kill people.
Some events in  American history  are so looming in proportion that they REQUIRE our understanding and an immediate resolution.  Through education and enlightenment of others, I'm committed to doing just that in the memory of the twenty fallen angels in Newtown, Connecticut.
If you'd like to help the community of  Newtown, Huffington Post has assembled a resource list here.

Madisyn's Inspirational Thought of the Day

December 6, 2012
A Clear Current
Maintaining the Flow
--by Madisyn Taylor

Photobucket
 Life energy flows through us like a swift stream when there is nothing to obstruct it.

The essence of all being is energy. Our physical and ethereal selves depend on the unrestricted flow of life energy that is the source of wholeness and wellness. Though the channels through which this energy flows are open systems and influenced by factors outside of our control, we ultimately choose what impact these will have in our lives. It is up to us to identify and clear blockages in the energy field to ensure that flow is maintained. A healthy, grounded individual absorbs some portion of the energy emitted by other people and the environment, but this does not interrupt the continuous stream of balanced energy sustaining them. The same individual copes constructively with stress and upset, and they are not subject to the stagnation that frequently goes hand in hand with negativity. When we keep the energy in and around our bodies flowing harmoniously, we are naturally healthy, vibrant, and peaceful. [Continue reading>>>]

Staying True to Self--

"...Excellence is an art won by training and habituation.  We do not act rightly because we have virture or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly.  We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence then, is, not an act but a habit."  --Aristotle

I have been on a purposeful 'quiet' journey of growth for the past several years (...and I do mean SEVERAL).  Learned a lot.  Tossed out a lot.  Believed in miracles both great and small.  Steadied my thoughts and sometimes let thoughts fly on the kite's coat tails.  Sifted through the grains of illusions and came out on the other side a winner.  My, my, life has been growth-producing.  Stay tuned!  (~djg, Mon., 12/10/12)

God Is In the Details

--from the publisher's at
Bethany House

Vera Kratochvil
It's not often that a piece of writing stays with me 'years on end' but (among others), I keep referring to the following page found in "Moments of Peace in the Presence of GOD."

~~~
God is evident in the tear or in a far-off whistle. He is in the twinkle of a stranger's eye and in a certain shade of blue. He is in the warmth of a handshake and in the missing front teeth of a five-year-old. He is between the lines of handwritten letters and in the nervous laughter of teeenage girls. He is in the invisible arc made by a hawk on a fine autumn day. He is the energy you use to write your to do lists, and he is in the itch to take a break in the middle of the day.
God surrounds you with reminders of his presence. He is in kept promises and acts of love and mercy. God is in every sigh, whisper, and exclamation. God is by you now. ~
P.S.  I wish God would be more specific with his instructions.
Given my life experiences, to trust now, would be next to impossible. ~djg
Women Who Run with the Wolves
You know how you know you should do something but procrastinate and procrastinate some more; then a series of days of enlightenment nudges you off course, then back on course-- all the while the meandering is all on course.
Today was one of those days.  And, I should have posted about this book when I was first lead to do so in my heart.  If you're a woman who has come to a crossroads time and time again, this is a book for you.  Trust me on this one ladies.  --djg
Updated, with new material by the author, "Women Who Run with the Wolves"
isn't just another book. It is a gift of profound insight, wisdom, and love.
An oracle from one who knows."
--Alice Walker
Within every woman there lives a powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless knowing. She is the Wild Woman, who represents the instinctual nature of women. But she is an endangered species. In "Women Who Run with the Wolves" Dr. Estés unfolds rich intercultural myths, fairy tales, and stories, many from her own family, in order to help women reconnect with the fierce, healthy, visionary attributes of this instinctual nature. Through the stories and commentaries in this remarkable book, we retrieve, examine, love, and understand the Wild Woman and hold her against our deep psyches as one who is both magic and medicine. Dr. Estés has created a new lexicon for describing the female psyche. Fertile and life-giving, it is a psychology of women in the truest sense, a knowing of the soul. ~
"This volume reminds us that we are nature for all our sophistication, that we are still wild,
and the recovery of that vitality will itself set us right in the world."
--Thomas Moore, Author of Care of the Soul
"I am grateful to "Women Who Run with the Wolves" and to Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés.
The work shows the reader how glorious it is to be daring, to be caring,  and to be women.
Everyone who can read should read this book."
--Maya Angelou
"An inspiring book, 'vitamins for the soul' [for] women who are cut off from their intuitive nature."
--San Francisco Chronicle
"Stands out from the pack . . . A joy and sparkle in [the] prose . . .
This book will become a bible for women interested in doing deep work.
 . . . It is a road map of all the pitfalls, those familiar and those horrifically unexpected,
that a woman encounters on the way back to her instinctual self. Wolves . . . is a gift.
--Los Angeles Times
"A mesmerizing voice . . . Dramatic storytelling she learned at the knees of her [immigrant] aunts.
--Newsweek
Heaven Help that Stalker
~by Debra J. Gordon
(Florida, USA)
Jiri Hoden
Threat Assessment guru Mr. Gavin deBecker calls it "the inappropriate pursuit of another" a fancy term used if you happen to be a celebrity.  But us regular folks call this stalking.  DeBecker and his team of MOSIAC-trained Navy Seal-type renegades don't play.  They get the job done for dignitaries, politicians, judges, celebrities and the like.  I could never hope to afford deBecker's services but I still wish his guys would just swoop on down here to Florida and "find this psychopath."  No one should have to live like I live.
Ladies reading this, please note the patterns of behaviors shown in the small details.  Does what you're about to read sound familiar?  There are no coincidences in life.  Seasoned detectives will affirm this.  Detectives connect such behaviors to the smallest, most insignificant details.  Please pay attention to your surroundings.
This post was so important to write, that I'm foregoing watching the final presidential debate tonight!  Not that this content is extra-extra-ordinary but for the FACT that, enough is just enough. Now, here's what happened earlier today which prompted this post. ~~
So while I decided to stay on the computer all day long revising my blogs, there was no need to use the car at my typical time; in which case I would have found out what the 'stalker' wanted me to find out at a time when no one would have been home to help me boost the dead battery on the car; which was dead because the hacker apparently has remote access to the OnStar system in the family car AND the music system mysteriously can turn on by itself and ran all night long--  but the good news is at least the use of the 'kill switch' hasn't been 'employed' recently.  And construction size nails aren't in the tires or various cables aren't severed or the phone in the house goes dead for no reason - get a new phone and it too, goes dead in a few days.  (Note: central to these 'issues' is electronics.)
And it is interesting to note that not one neighbor was home to help.  Such orchestration of events, I'd say.  I really don't know who I've angered people.  Years ago.
Note: This "run-on" sentence structure otherwise known as 'free-writing-without-much-punctuation' is being done purposefully. If and when you experience a 10-year long assault to your person, family, friends, community-- you will likewise, speak in run-on fashion.  Kindda sortta like Ms Olivia Pope on ABC's blockbuster television melodrama, "Scandal".  But like Ms Kerry I'm no pushover either, so I rock on-- hard, and hard I rock!  Keep up with me ladies.  There's more.
So, as I was saying--
I believe the car's electronics (radio and OnStar feature) were remotely turned on all night long which caused that dead battery.  We don't subscribe to the OnStar feature so there's no reason for the little Red-Cross-looking icon to glow or the smallish LED light on the right side of the rear view mirror to shine, correct?  This not-so-kind-person also locks my car doors when I'm out and about, which I've also got into the habit of not locking, so as to circumvent the activity of being locked out remotely from the car.  After about three years of living like this, I wrote the FBI in Washington.  Unfortunately, that 10-page letter citing alleged eavesdropping and hidden cameras in my home, which numerous police reports documented, didn't help.  And when my mail went missing, the USPS Technical and Forensic Division (also in DC), didn't respond to that letter for help, either.
Wow...! Having an exceptional day with words flowing again!
Anyway, absent transportation, I walked to the corner store and bought one of those prefabricated sandwiches and a cup of French Vanilla coffee.  I had a real moment of fear and thought it wise not to buy some Skittles.  I would not be the one dead had I been accousted.  Let us pray for the family of Treyvon Martin lifting them up beyond measure that they receive a right and just outcome to this Nation's most outrageous and horrific travesty.  I don't even know how his parents are making it day by day.  Conversely, despite what this stalker thinks he/she has/is getting away with, your days are numbered.  God'll see to it!  Hostility and aggression against human beings' is in fact as deBecker says is 'an inappropriate pursuit of another'.  Like hunting.  Like HUNTING.  You know who you are.  And, since this situation has become so protracted (yes, you can begin a sentence with a conjunction; my life, my rules)--  this has now become a willfull intention to inflict emotional duress, an actionable body of law.  But I digress--
I've been writing since the postage stamp was 5-cents, I have something to say Ms Huffington.  And just so everyone knows, I am no dummy.  I have written technical instructions for the telecommunications and the health care industry, self published, run a home-based mail order firm, taught college students, survived a 5-year-long divorce and raised three great kids.  United Press International picked up my piece "Those Precious Moments" (archieved on this blog) and ran as a two-part series on their ReligionAndSprituality website.  Knowledge, however will not deter a stalker from believing you are his/her possession or to exact whatever hostility he/she has toward you ladies.  If you suspect you're being followed you are right.  Communicate with your intuition at this time.  Your intuition is God's specific way of alerting you to something looming.  It will always be spot on.  When something happens that makes you pause, doubt, or makes the hair stand on the back of your neck... pay attention to your surroundings.  Try not to be alone too much.  Be determined.  Know this is happening.  Be prepared.  Let someone know.  Keep a journal, write summations and give copies to a variety of people who are aware of your situation.  Save cash register receipts or use a debit card so your person can be tracked-- in case you go missing.
"...A date won't take "no" for an answer. The new nanny gives a mother an uneasy feeling. A stranger in a deserted parking lot offers unsolicited help. The threat of violence surrounds us every day. But we can protect ourselves, by learning to trust-- and act on-- our gut instincts."
-- from "The Gift of Fear"
Get Gavin deBecker's book "The Gift of Fear"  and read chapter three if no other chapter.  Do what he says!  I rest my case and wish you well.  Heaven help the stalker when those Navy-renegades find him.  It ain't gonna be a pretty picture.  You know how the Seals do!
[P.S. This picture above is of me (on left), age 6-- with my sister at Don's birthday party taken on a day I saw a member of family choked that evening. This domestice violence stuff runs generations to generations, doesn't it?]
[Further reading]  "...It is understood in the law enforcement and victim service fields that crime victims who are kept informed about their cases and treated with respect and compassion are far more likely to cooperate with law enforcement than victims who feel neglected or disrespected. This good rapport can be especially important in cold cases, where the survivors of homicide victims may have only sporadic contact with law enforcement. The passage of time can also lead to changes in the offender’s relationships and circumstances, and, thereby, in the surfacing of new witnesses and leads. Thus, cooperation between law enforcement and victim service providers is imperative to meet survivors’ needs and facilitate the investigation of cold cases."  --Serving Survivors of Homicide Victims During Cold Casae Investigations:  A Guide for Developing a Law Enforcement Protocol, prepared by National Sheriff's Association Justice Solutions, National Organization of Parents of Murdered Children, Inc.
Epistomology, Discernment and Indigos
Mon., 10/22/12 | 1:26pmEST
Tallahassee, FL  |  USA
--by Debra J. Gordon
Hello Again:
I was about eight or nine when I discovered I was an Indigo child.   It began with the discovery of a rifle bullet I found lying in the grass near the front door of the house I shared with my family.  What followed after that magic bullet raised it's head is something I'd rather not share right now.  Just trust me when I say, "I" wouldn't connect the dots for another few decades.  And so, for those friends who're reading this who are not indigos, empaths, lightworkers, etc., it might take some 'convincing'
that my life experiences were real.  It doesn't help the situation either-- that I am also an empath.
This gift of highly developed discernment does not soothe my soul. If I had the ability to wave a magic wand and have it vanish, I'd like that. But God had other plans for me.
And who am I to argue with Him?
Today I am more accepting of this.  I haven't many friends. In fact, under the dome in this town I have two (and a few family members). Neighbors seem to be purposefully distant except for my buddy John. A jovial, elderly man who made a living selling gun ammunition to whomever.  John walks and walks... and walks, just about everywhere. Consequently, he's in excellent shape for his senior years.  [Pause writing]
Transitioning: "Those Precious Moments"
 Peter Griffin
An imposing yet warm and calm presence made Grandma's hospital room feel as though it was wrapped in a silky cocoon, engulfed by a tropical island breeze. Surely I would have floated away had I not been clutching her arm so tightly. Overwhelmed by and unable to totally understand His wondrous power, my body began to tremble with uncertainty. Grandma looked me straight in my tear-soaked eyes, squeezed my hand and reassuringly said, "Baby don't cry. I promise everything will be allright in the morning." Who would have ever thought what happened next?
###
Above Mame's headboard appeared a soft white glow, which took on the shape of an angel's wingspan. Without a doubt, Mame's angels were watching over her. Amplified sounds and crystal-clear images of Grandma's homecoming mirrored before me. Flocks of Jekyll Island sea gulls, prancing through stilted foliage, were drowned out by the sound of a big-band orchestra. Oversized, 'Lawrence Welk' bubbles, painted in vivid purple, blue and green, invaded our cocoon. The smell of Mame's old-fashion, one-stick-of-butter pound cake, quickened a vivid picture of Grandma in her mint green kitchen. Smiling at sleeping beauty, I made the sign of the cross on my forehead, just like she did to me when I was a little girl. As my heart decided to let Mame go to God-- poof!... the silky cocoon evaporated. I took a deep breath and blew her one l-o-n-g, last kiss in the air. Grandma was ready to go home and I was finally at peace.
###
Through His Almighty power, He had transferred from Grandma's soul and embodied into my soul, an unshakable level of strength, grace, insight, wisdom and spirituality. Today, I walk in boldness, step-by-step with resilience from thine enemies and assured in the complete confidence that, He divinely protects me. So, get ready world! Here comes Esther's first-born grandchild, power walking His path to fight injustice and to speak up for the people who can't speak up for themselves.
Psst! Are YOU blessed to know what God wants for YOUR life?
These are a few of my favorite passages from "Those Precious Moments:  Share God's Beautiful Gift of Personal Transformation and Call to Purpose"  |  read full story here!
"...Thank you for blessing me with your story.  Your Grandmother sounds like she was one wonderful lady.
May you experience much more wise guidance from your intuition and keep writing!"
The Four Candles--
 --Unknown author
Peter Griffin
Four candles slowly burned.
The ambience was so soft, one could almost hear them talking...
The first candle said, "I am Peace!
The world is full of anger and fighting.  Nobody can keep me lit."
Then the flame of Peace went out completely.
Then the second candle said, "I am Faith.  I am no longer indespensible.
It doesn't make sense I stay lit another day longer."
Just then a breeze softly blew out Faith's flame.
Sadly the third candle began to speak. "I am Love.
People don't understand my importance.  So they just simply put me
aside.  They even forget to Love those who are nearest to them.  I haven't the
strength to stay lit."  And waiting no longer, Love's flame went out.
Suddenly a child entered the room and saw the three unlit candles.  "Why aren't
you burning?  You're suppose to stay lit 'til the end."
Saying this the child began to cry.
Then the fourth candle answered, "Don't be afraid, I am Hope.  While I am still
burning we can re-light the flames."  With shining eyes, the child took the candle of Hope and relit the other candles.
~ ~ ~
The flame of Hope should never go out from your life... and with Hope each of us can live a life with Peace... Faith... and Love
Inspire a friend today... pass along this uplifting story.
Parody: The River Grasses
~~ by Robert Elias Najemy
David Wagner
Have you ever sat by a river and watched the mesmerizingly graceful movement of the river grasses, which surrender themselves completely to the flow of the river?
At their base they are firmly attached to a rock on the riverbed. If they were not securely attached in this way, they would be carried away by the current and would perish.
The upper part of these grasses has absolutely no resistance and is thus free to flow in an infinite variety of movements caused by the river's ever-changing flow pattern.
A similar type of event may be seen while observing various sea grasses, which are attached to the bottom of the sea and move with the gentle currents and tides.
We have something to learn from these grasses. We can learn the delicate balance between discipline and freedom, between routine and diversity, between control and surrender, between tradition and change. Obviously, too much of any of these opposite qualities will create problems.
On the one hand we need to have discipline, routine, control and tradition to give us a security base, a moral base, a sense of inner strength and stability in facing the ever-changing circumstances of life.
Spiritual disciplines such as prayer, concentration, meditation, proper diet, self-analysis, exercises and breathing techniques help to create that centered feeling of an inner stability and inner security.
Then we can feel free to allow ourselves to flow with life, trusting the Divine, life, others and our own selves; free from the fear of being harmed, overcome or swept off our feet.
The greater our connection with our inner security base, the more spontaneous and free we can allow ourselves to be.
We all need to find our own way of connecting ourselves to the spiritual rock within us, so that we may adjust and cope in a more relaxed way with the ever-changing situations and tests of life.
Be disciplined and flow.
~ Be Well ~
The Caterpillar and the Butterfly--
Sandra Fehler
--by Robert Elias Najemy
Some people criticize those who retreat into themselves feeling the need to search inwardly and practice spiritual disciplines, as ego-centered and anti-social.
What they must understand is that for many this is the road to * true selflessness, * which allows for real service to society.
As long as we have not found our inner center of strength, security, self-worth, values, beliefs and life motivation, we will have little to offer to those around us. We will mainly need to take.  We will be "social" because of what we get rather than out of desire to give and serve.
The caterpillar lives a life of taking. It eats and eats all day long and doesn't offer much to the world around it. Then it closes into a cocoon and is transformed from an earth-bound, not very attractive, being into a beautiful butterfly, which eats little and offers much beauty and happiness through its appearance and movement.
In the same way, many on the spiritual path reduce their external activities and temporarily close themselves into a cocoon of spiritual practices, so as to get in touch with their inner-self. Then they eventually come out of this transformational stage with wonderful qualities such as peace, love, wisdom and a desire to offer to those around them.
Thus we have three stages:  the socially active consuming caterpillar,  the caterpillar which is taking refuge in the cocoon and finally-- the beautiful butterfly.  The cocoon stage of * inner work * is usually a prerequisite to becoming a butterfly.  --Be Well
